Social Media Coordinator

This position is open to any student or volunteer who specializes in Facebook and Instagram platforms through promotional animal advocacy posts, recruiting fosters, adopters, and volunteers through social media, and communication with the virtual target audience. This individual is essential to a successful social media presence. Any prior experience in Marketing, Advertising, Posting/Blogging, Graphic Design, and Journalism/Writing is highly considered in a candidate. Hashtags, captions, and branding are essential components for this position and postings to be successful. Any experience in photography or photo/video editing or SEO and SEM is also helpful in this position.

Event Planner

One vital aspect of rescue is scheduling events, finding new locations for events, and scouting out local dog or cat-friendly opportunities in the Athens or Atlanta area. Having any experience or passion towards event planning and scheduling, as well as connections to local animal-friendly potential venues is extremely beneficial in this position. This individual will ensure that events run smoothly and on time as well. This person is in charge of communicating the event to every foster and volunteer, as well as promoting it through social media.

Foster Coordinator

Fostering is one of the most important aspects of rescue. This individual will ensure every foster has the supplies they need upon receiving an animal (or informing one of the Co-Founders of what the animal needs if they are bringing the animal to the foster), as well as answering any fostering questions. This person is also in charge of asking for up-to-date pictures of each foster animal. This person will be given the contact information for every foster in our system, and from there, they will be able to devise an appropriate strategy that keeps up-to-date with all of the animals in the foster home. If an animal needs a vet appointment, the Foster Coordinator is informed to reach out for a time of availability that the foster can take in their foster animal to the vet or to coordinate transport of the foster animal to the vet.

Grant Writer

This position is one that is essential to our limited rescue budget and funding. This individual will apply for grants to foundations and organizations by reinforcement of Three Paws’ mission and values. This person must be honest and genuine in his or her pursuits to receive grant approval. Prior to submitting a grant, it must be approved by BOTH of the Co-Founders, and then one may submit the final copy. This individual is responsible for aiming to create strong relations and ties with organizations and foundations in order to maintain an accurate and socially substantial image of an ideal rescue group. This person must specialize in persuasion techniques through honest behaviors and strategic thinking. This position is responsible for educating themselves on grants and the guidelines and research behind grant writing. Any background in Writing, Journalism, or Creative Writing is valued.

Adoption Coordinator

This individual is responsible for managing adoption inquiries via Petfinder and Adopt a Pet, as well as adoption applications. This individual will put the approved adopter (by one of the Co-Founders) in touch with the animal’s current foster. This person is also required to respond to every inquiry and applicant. If an applicant is open to another animal and the animal that they applied for is unavailable, this person will be in charge of recommending an appropriate animal for them. This person’s job consists of matching a Three Paws’ animal with their furever home! This person is recommended to follow up with adopters to ensure that everything is going well, before, during, and after trial adoption period.

Petfinder Coordinator

This person is in charge of posting animals on PetFinder as they enter our program. This individual must follow up with updated photos, biographies, and information about each foster. This person is in charge of writing a short snippet of information about the foster animal based on the information given to them by the Foster and Co-Founders. One of the Co-Founders will notify this person if an animal’s adoption status has changed (i.e. to adoption pending, to adopted, if they are returned), and this person is in charge of updating their status in PetFinder. This person works closely with the Adopt-a-Pet Coordinator on updated information.

Adopt-a-Pet Coordinator

This person is in charge of posting animals on Adopt-a-Pet as they enter our program. This individual must follow up with updated photos, biographies, and information about each foster. This person is in charge of writing a short snippet of information about the foster animal based on the information given to them by the Foster and Co-Founders.
